COVID-19 Briefing Issued 10.05pm Sunday 220320
COVID-19
Bujutsu Briefing Note
Issued 10.05pm Sunday 22nd March 2020
At 9.15pm this evening our Prime Minister addressed the nation in relation to COVID-19.
During that address, the Prime Minister directed that all gym’s and indoor sporting facilities to close by 12pm Monday the 23rd March 2020 for a period of one month.
What does this mean for our Bujutsu members?
Bujutsu must support all government initiatives to suppress the spread of COVID-19 and protect our community.
As such, all Bujutsu indoor facilities are closed until the 19th of April 2020 at this stage.
Nobody knows if we will be allowed to open back up on that day, or the closures will be extended.
Personally, given the effect this will have on our economy and the amount of business it would bankrupt, I don’t see this going longer than 4 weeks.
Account Payments – What are your options?
We have been overwhelmed by the support we have received from our members to date. We cannot thank you enough.
We do understand that 4 weeks is a long time.
Option 1:
Continue to make your weekly payments and do make up lessons upon return.
Option 2:
Place your account on hold until the 19th of April 2020.
You can place your account on hold by emailing Sensei Mark at:
mark@bujutsumartialarts.com
Please note the following:
- Our normal response time of 4 hours will not be able to be met during this difficult time. Please allow up to 48 hours for us to respond to your email. If you don’t receive an email back within 48 hours, something has gone wrong, please contact us again.
- We will only accept emails for account holds. This is the only way that we can record, track and professionally manage such a large number of accounts.
The future:
I want to reassure everyone, that you have my commitment that I will do everything I need to do in order to ensure that Bujutsu reopens as soon as government guidelines allow.
This will be an extremely difficult financial time for Bujutsu and its instructors.
But we will get through this and we will reopen.
I am confident that even if we are locked out for 6 months I will be able to put in place financial arrangements that will see Bujutsu survive.
I started my martial arts career in 1987, and I am confident it is not going to end in 2020.
