Mark Szalajko Promoted to Godan in the Japan Karate Association
On the 21st October 2023, Mark Szalajko Sensei was promoted to Godan (5th Degree Black Belt) in the Japan Karate Association by Ogura Sensei (8th Dan – Vice Chief Instructor).
On the 26th May 2024 his Japan Karate Association Godan Diploma was presented to him by Naylor Sensei (7th Dan).
Godan and above Diploma’s are different to the Diploma’s issued for Yondan and below.
Godan is considered the first master level. The Diploma comes in a timber box, with a small card that translates the Diploma to English.
The Diploma itself is handwritten and stamped on rice paper.
The registration number for Sesnsei Mark’s Godan Diploma is 23-3-0161. Meaning he is the 161st person to obtain a JKA Godan Diploma in the Asia Pacific region.
