Sensei Sarah Brown
Kids and Adults Karate Instructor
My name is Sarah and I am the owner of Bujutsu Martial Arts Centre Picton. I am a wife and a mum to two amazing children who are supportive and kind.
As a mum we tend to put our plans and dreams behind the needs of others. I have always encouraged our kids to stay healthy and active.
Being active as family allows you to be good role models, it’s a great chance to spend time together and improve the overall mood of both the parents and the kids.
Like most mums and dads at Bujutsu, I started training after sitting back for a few months watching our kids train. That was over 5 years ago, and I’ve never looked back.
What do I like most about training at Bujutsu?
I love that I get to train with both our children. I enjoy that every karate lesson I attend, I learn something new and no lesson is ever the same.
Karate has developed my personality and character. I am a shy person and I never thought I’d be training for as long as I have and enjoyed it as much as I do. Karate has definitely improved my self- confidence.
Becoming an instructor, which I never thought I’d do, I hope to encourage others, young and old, to learn self-defence, self-respect, respect for others and to always have a positive attitude, in a friendly and safe learning environment, to train and learn and hopefully make life long friends just like I have.
I’m loving my journey and enjoying new forms of Martial Arts. Karate is a lifelong journey. I am glad it has helped shape the person that I am today. I can’t imagine our afternoons without training.
I hope to see you all soon, Sarah.
