Respect and Good Manners

Martial Arts and Self Defence is a lot more than just kicking and punching.
Learning respect for one’s self and others is a big part of traditional martial arts training.

We teach our members, especially our kids that respect and good manners will open doors. No respect and bad manners will close doors.
These are values we hope our members will apply to everyday life, whether it be at school or in the workplace. These skills will assist our members to be successful in life.
From a martial arts perspective, the use of good manners and assertive communication in tense situations with others who are being aggressive towards you can also assist in defusing a tense situation that may otherwise turn violent.

As a police officer, I have used these skills on many occasions and have been successful in resolving tense situations without the need to use physical force.
