Bujustu Briefing Note

Issued 10am Wednesday 18th March 2020

This morning our Prime Minister announced that gatherings of 100 persons or more are prohibited in indoor spaces.

Essential services are exempt from this provision. Bujustu Marital Arts and Fitness Centre of course is not an essential service.

This means that at this time we are still able to train and Bujutsu is still open. Our trading hours remain unchanged.

Over the last 4 days our classes have been extremely small due to the fear of COVID-19 and we have been under 100 people at all times in any event.

Bujutsu takes its responsibility to ensure the safety of our members very seriously and we will comply and support all government control measures.

In order to ensure that we comply with the no more than 100 people in our building at a time we are putting in place the following arrangements until further notice.

Effective immediately:

Please do not come to class any earlier than absolutely necessary. I am happy for people to walk on the floor late to class during this difficult time.

Upon your classes completing, please leave our dojo asap.

For adults classes, parents will not be permitted to wait in our reception area whilst class is on. Unfortunately, you will need to wait in your vehicle or your home etc.

For kids classes, no more than 1 parent can be present whilst your child trains.

We will continue to disinfect our dojo twice daily. We will continue to require you to wash your hands before entering our facility.

We will continue with our strategy of training with only one partner during class, no partner swapping for training.

Any equipment used will be cleaned disinfected by the student using it and put away for the next class.

If you are sick or unwell, please stay home and rest.

Instructors will continue to ask at the start of class if you have washed your hands and if anyone is feeling unwell.

Saturday mornings are our busiest period, so in order to make sure we comply with 100 people or less the following classes are cancelled until further notice.

Saturday morning Kawanabe Aiki-Budo and Adults BJJ.

(this will be reassessed on a week by week basis – these classes may come back online in a couple of weeks).

All other classes are going ahead as normal.

We expect all of our classes to be very small given the current level of fears.

This is an extremely difficult time that is expected to bankrupt a number of martial arts schools. Unfortunately, some schools will have no school to go back to in a few weeks time. They will be closed due to bankruptcy.

We ask that you don’t cancel your accounts during this tough time. If too many members do this, there will be no Bujutsu to come back to.

Remember you can do make up lessons at anytime.

Scheduled gradings will go ahead as planned.

We won’t have any problem being under 100 people with the following guidelines.

Only 1 parent will be able to attend the grading. I know this will be disappointing for some families, and I apologise for the inconvenience.

Please leave our dojo as soon as the grading is finalised.

We seek your support during this tough time during this very difficult time.

See you soon.
